As for the song, this is my best interpretation of the studio version. I spent a lot of time listening closely to the original to get the phrasing, timing, and feel as accurate as possible, including those moments where Stevie lays just behind the beat. I know many of you have requested the legendary El Mocambo performance, and while I couldn’t fit that massive improvisation into my schedule this time, it’s definitely something I’d consider tackling in the future.

I also used 11-gauge strings for this one, so those bends were no joke! Stevie’s tone is incredibly difficult to recreate, but I dialed in something I was really happy with.
