I know the original Dick Dale track was played on a Fender Stratocaster, but for me, the Gretsch Streamliner just suited the vibe of this song perfectly, both sonically and visually.
I had a lot of fun with this one. I even transcribed the trumpet part for guitar because, well… it’s more fun when you can play all the main melodies from start to finish. I also tried to capture Dick Dale’s rhythms as closely as possible.
He doesn’t just play straight 16th notes throughout the entire song, so I wanted the tab to reflect those little rhythmic changes and get as close to his feel as I could.
