Here’s an updated version of Sweet Home Alabama – which was originally added to the channel way back in June 2020 !
I’ve updated the chorus rhythm, corrected some solo positions, and added notes I missed in my original video.
Ed King’s video with Marty Schwartz was a big help, along with listening closely to the isolated studio guitar tracks. The main video focuses primarily on Ed King’s part.
I’ve shown the additional guitar parts during the intro, including the picking figure that continues throughout the verses. I play that figure much as Ed demonstrates it with Marty, although I hear what may be a few additional notes and rhythmic details in the studio recording.
There are other rhythm guitar parts throughout the song that aren’t shown on the main screen. Those parts are included in the complete Musicnotes sheet music and Guitar Pro files available through my Patreon and website.
You’ll also hear some light palm muting, particularly on the root notes of chords. That happens naturally as I play, and I haven’t marked every instance with a palm mute symbol in the tab. One small correction: in measure 62, on beat four, the video shows me playing the 17th fret, but the tab correctly shows the 16th fret. Follow the tab there.
Thanks for watching, and I hope you enjoy the updated version!
Tone are available as .AT5P Amplitube files
