Joe Satriani’s tone is legendary and pretty tough to match with a digital amp modeler. The only way to truly nail it is with his full gear setup – which I don’t have access to unfortunately. I got as close as I could using Amplitube, and I’m pretty happy with the results.
For the tab, I really focused on replicating the studio version, while blending a few things I’ve seen him do live. The tapping section can be a real challenge — worth trying if you’re up for it! This video is sponsored by Enya. The Inpire guitar has a built-in speaker, making it an amazing practise/travel guitar — but honestly, you’ve got to hear it in person to really appreciate the sound. It has 4 presets (clean, crunch, overdrive, high gain) that sound much better than you’d expect, and comes with a ton of extras. Check out the link in the description.
Enjoy learning this masterpiece, and remember the backing track without lead guitar is available in YouTube Memberships if you’d like to jam along.
Tone are available as .AT5P Amplitube files
