Zelda's Lullaby

By: Koji Kondo

Featured in this video is the AeroBand MIDI controller guitar, which I used to recreate all the classic sounds from the Nintendo 64 masterpiece, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. AeroBand has made some great improvements to the guitar, so be sure to check it out – links are in the description if you’re interested!

While I stuck with those iconic N64 tones for this video, you’re absolutely free to get creative and use an acoustic or electric guitar instead. The notes and pitch translate perfectly — so make it your own!

🔀 I’ve split this performance into four sections for clarity:
1. Strings
2. Harp
3. Vibraphone – Note: This only plays near the end of the original loop in Ocarina of Time, so I jumped ahead to when it kicks in to avoid long stretches of silence.
4. Flute – The most memorable melody of the piece.

🎚 In each section, the instrument that’s tabbed is slightly louder in the mix so you can clearly hear what’s being played.

⚠ Heads up: The vibraphone and flute parts in this video are played one octave higher than what you’d hear on a regular guitar. Thanks to the AeroBand MIDI guitar, I was able to shift up an octave easily. If you’re playing this on a traditional guitar, just know you’ll be an octave lower than what you hear here.

I had a blast putting this one together. If you’d like to see more videos using the AeroBand MIDI guitar, let me know — which song should I cover next?

Thanks for watching! 🤘

Tone Screenshots

Here are some of my screenshots, so that you can see exactly how I achieved my Zelda's Lullaby guitar tones. I matching the solo and rhythm section tones from the Koji Kondo recording as closely as possible. Patrons can reach out with any tone questions you may have.

Isolated TRACKS (mp3)

Here are the drums, bass and other background tracks to jam along to Zelda's Lullaby. I've also included all of my isolated guitar tracks in case you really want to hear what's going on. Isolated tracks are normally very difficult to find online, and can be very helpful in cracking a difficult solo tab.
