Here’s a tune for the diehard GN’R fans who requested this!

There’s a couple of things I wanted to point out about the Solo. It’s one of my favorite Slash solos.

In measure 195, I used a fingering pattern that was comfortable for me. I slowed down the track (over and over and over), and those were the notes I heard. However, you can see some live videos of how he just wings it going up the fretboard. And so I feel he hit those notes as he gunned it up the fretboard to reach that major 3rd note before the 196th measure. Because I was learning what he improvised (I’m thinking he improvised it), I used a fingering pattern that made sense to me.

Back tracking to measure 192, 3rd fret on the B string and 3rd fret on the high E string, I kinda slur those notes and don’t play them as cleanly as I have them tabbed out. Because it sounds to me like he slurs it in the track. It’s tricky to pick those out because it’s so buried in the mix (to my ears anyhow). But the live videos kinda give me hints as to what he’s getting at. He doesn’t play it the same, but at least the videos give me some clues.

And I’m pretty sure he uses neck pickup for the outro solo. I wasn’t feeling the neck pickup though. There’s something about mine that doesn’t quite sound the same. I struggle to get a great tone with it on my guitar for certain songs. And then I have to do a bunch of eq’ing to get it to cut through the mix. Because it’s so Bassy. I just decided to go with the bridge. But you can use the neck pickup if you like.
