Tune down 1/2 step. Thanks to all who requested this tune! Green Day were a big influence in the early days of my development as a guitarist so this one is for all the beginners to intermediate out there. I feel like when I began learning this song, I didn’t pay much attention to some of the accents on the power chords with the palm muting and I just basically made up my own strum pattern. But I think what Billie Joe is doing here is very essential to what is needed here. I checked out some live videos to make sure that the positioning is correct as well assuming that’s what he did in the studio also. *Edit. I also noticed Billie Joe does an upstrum on the E minor chord second strum in the 3rd measure. Really cool. I used to always play that with a downstrum.
